Alternative Cures for a Panic Attack

Mary was on her way to meet some friends for coffee. All of a sudden she felt familiar waves of nausea surge through her and she started to feel light headed and disconnected from her surroundings. It was the third time this week this had happened and the panic attacks were getting worse.

If you have been diagnosed with panic disorder it is important to understand that you are not alone. According to the National Institute of Health, there are indeed thousands and thousands of people who are suffering from the disorder today.

Physical symptoms of panic attacks-

The symptoms of a panic attack appear suddenly, without any apparent cause. They may include

* racing or pounding heartbeat (palpitations);
* chest pains;
* stomach upset;
* dizziness, lightheadedness, nausea;
* difficulty breathing, a sense of feeling smothered;
* tingling or numbness in the hands;
* hot flashes or chills;
* dreamlike sensations or perceptual distortions;
* terror: a sense that something unimaginably horrible is about to occur and one is powerless to prevent it;
* a need to escape;
* fear of losing control and doing something embarrassing; and
* fear of dying.
In addition to the physical symptoms, other effects might be feeling detached from the world and a feeling of lightheadedness.

It is because such a large percentage of the population suffers from panic attacks and anxiety that doctors and researchers are constantly looking for new treatments every day.
There are several current treatments that are available for panic attacks and anxiety disorders, ranging from medication to reduce anxiety, cognitive behavioral therapy which focuses on coping techniques and exposure therapy. There are also alternative treatments such as hypnosis, meditation and relaxation techniques.

One of the biggest disadvantages of conventional treatments for panic attacks is that they don't have long lasting, effective results. If you are on medication, the panic attacks usually return if the medication is stopped. Cognitive bahavioral therapy merely teaches you how to cope with an attack, but the attacks still happen.

Fortunately, if you are interested in natural cures for panic attacks there is a radical new treatment I discovered that is unlike anything that is available today. It involves no medication, no herbs, no therapy, no riding out the fear or hypnosis.
